Financial Support to the SHG’s

Kottapuram Integrated Development Society (KIDS) in collaboration with Bank of India Moothakunnam Branch has provided with Rs.50 lakhs the SHG members. The Loans given to entrepreneurs for self-employment. Fr. Paul Thomas Kalathil, Director of KIDS, presided over the function held at Thuruttur. Fr. Prince Padamatummal Vicar of Turuthur Church inaugurated the loan disbursement. The Bank of India Manager Mr. Anand was the chief guest.

Certificate distribution of data entry training

Kottapuram Integrated Development Society (KIDS) and Ernakulum Kudumbashree District Mission jointly conducted a certificate distribution of data entry training conducted by KIDS as part of Entrepreneurship Skills Development Programme at KIDS Campus.

In collaboration with Bank of India, KIDS provided a loan of `50 lakh to Kottapuram Self Help Groups (SHG’s).

FASHION DESIGNING AND TAILORING TRAINING

In collaboration with Kudumbashree District Mission, Block Panchayats and Panchayats, KIDS Kottapuram provided one month training in various crafts, tailoring, cloth bag, paper bag, paper craft, file making, fashion designing and entrepreneurship skill development at various parts of Thrissur and Ernakulam districts.


TRAININGS FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED

KIDS in alliance with different partners like Kudumbashree District Mission, Thiruvilamala Grama Panchayat, Pazhayanoor Grama panchayat, Thrissur Captain Lakshmi Buds Rehabilitation Centre and Chavakkad Buds School organized Buds Special School Training Programme for the specially abled children and parents. This training section aimed at the development of the differently abled persons by enabling training for various skills such as paper file making, paper bag, medicine cover, door mat making etc.


SKILL TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR WOMEN

KIDS in association with Ernakulam Kudumbasree District Mission conducted various training in stitching, Beautician course for the women’s from Elankunapuzha Panchayat, Mulavukad Panchayat, Edavanakad Panchayat, Vadakkekara Panchayat, Paravur Block Panchayat, Chendamangalam Grama Panchayat.

Kerala State Rutronics

Kottapuram Integrated Development Society (KIDS) has been empaneled as an Accredited Learning Centre in Kodungallur Municipality for the Vijayaveethi Project, a Kerala State Rutronics Project initiated and implemented by the honourable Chief Minister's 100 Day Action Plan and initiated by the State Department of Industry and Commerce.


Vijaya Veedhi is a learning and training programme for the educated youth in our area who are able to achieve high marks in competitive examinations. The Vijayaveedhi Project will be based on the scientific basis of the preliminary examinations conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission on the basis of Class X, Plus Two and under graduation as a preliminary stage.

“NANMA”- Bank Linkage Loans

LOAN FOR THE ACTIVITY GROUPS FROM BANK OF INDIA

During the period of the Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of starting various small economic ventures, the Kottapuram Integrated Development Society under the Kottapuram Diocese distributed Rs. 1 crore for the activity group of SHGs at low interest. Bank of India honoured KIDS for their good initiatives by presenting them with a Memento.

KERALA STATE BACKWARD CLASSES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LOAN DISTRIBUTION

In Cooperation with KERALA STATE BACKWARD CLASSES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (KSBCDC), KIDS was able to distribute an amount of 1 crore 25 lakhs for the activity cluster of SHGs at low interest for starting economic ventures. The 28 activity groups received the KSBCDC loan and started their small economic activities.

LED bulb making training conducted:

Training on LED bulb making was conducted for SHG members at KIDS campus for the women representing more than 10 SHGs. Above all it created awareness about energy conservation through proactive steps to save energy by LED bulb promotion. They were distributed hand books on energy conservation. Feedback revealed that participants benefited out of the training. Overall, they enjoyed the session dealt by resource person as it was delivered in simplified manner with individual care and attention.

Digital Literacy

Digital literacy is the ability to of individuals and communities to understand and use digital technologies for meaningful actions within life situations. With the support of Brother and Sister in Need, KIDS organized training for the selected 40 beneficiaries from the Poor rural women & differently-abled women

Transformed rural youth as skilled workers

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) a novel initiative to empower rural youth with skills, more than 70 aspirants skilled in different trades and placed them on job. Project is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). KIDS organized the training programme for unskilled youth from poor families.

Quest Alliance-Employment Opportunities

Employment opportunities for youth generated

KIDS in collaboration with Quest Alliance not-for-profit making organization based at Bangalore equipped 35 young people with diploma in tally and placed them with job in different organizations. With technical support from quest alliance, poor unemployed youth acquired skills in tally based accounting for self-learning and employment opportunity. Young people after securing diploma course in tally doing fairly well working in different sectors and supporting their family as most of them earning a decent salary.

Conducted skill training

One month skill development training on essential data entry, was organized for kudumbashree members. Through panchayat level training participants got equipped with knowledge and skills on day to day transactions, data entry, book keeping and documentation needed for startup projects. ARISE - campaign production units, various development schemes available and required procedures to tap these benefits.


Day care training organized

As part of kudumbashree member’s skill development training was arranged for the third batch belonging to Kaiparambu panchayat in Thrissur district. KIDS organized the training under ARISE skill campaign programme to lift up women from flood aftermath and enable them to undertake sustainable employment generating projects. During the training various topics deliberated included essential requirements to open day care centre, do’s and don’ts and standard operation procedure.

ARISE (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Sustainable Employment) skill campaign

Array of trainings was undertaken for inclusive sustainable community development. One of the key highlights were kudumbashree members training under ARISE (Acquiring Resilience and Identity through Sustainable Employment) skill campaign organized by KIDS in collaboration with selected panchayats in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. Participants were given series of training on different topics to create sustainable employment opportunities.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD 2018

In its effort to encourage outstanding students who excelled academically KIDS felicitated them on July 14, 2018. Achievers were given away excellence award as citation and cash award during this occasion.

WORKERS’ DAY 2016

Worker’s day was celebrated inviting the work force which are associated with KIDS. Bishop Rev. Dr. Joseph Karikkassery was felicitated as it was his Feast Day by cutting a special cake made by Mrs. Meera Manoj from Meera’s Kitchen.

Dr. Martin

We were lucky to have with us, Dr. Martin, a scientist from the discipline of Micro biology from the King Khalid University of Saudi Arabia, who belongs to Kottapuram Diocese. He has won an award for discovering treatment for a disease caused an extraordinary bacterium. It was an opportunity for us to honor him and also give awareness to students how they can come up in life, if they work hard with determination.

Malu Sheika

Malu Sheika, the first female who crossed the Vambanattu lake, the longest lake in India was honoured during the programme on "Women Empowerment and Social Security" (“Sthree Suraksha Jagratha Sadhas”) conducted by KIDS and Gothuruthu LIbrary in Gothuruthu.

  • DDUGKY training programme (Grameen Kaushalya Yojana or DDU-GKY is a Government of India youth employment scheme.) in association with Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery. The programme has courses of Front office and IT.
  • QUEST Alliance - Entrepreneurship Development Program For Students where we conduct TALLY & GST classes We have been able to incorporate more short term courses which promise more employment opportunities to youth.
