CRAFT TRAINING CUM RESOURCE CENTERS:
KIDS render special attention for rehabilitation of differently abled men and women through diversified project interventions. Being very poor, parents of differently abled are unable to fulfill basic requirements of their children. In fact, majority of cases, mother of physically challenged is compelled to be at home in order to look after them. Some are bedridden, while others are having violent nature occurring unpredictable seizures, of course, some go to special school. Through skill development training and cum production project, the agency has been able to generate new hope into the minds of disabled persons. They are motivated to accept their disability positively.
Empowered differently able persons
With the objective of bringing people with disabilities to the mainstream over 26 differently abled men and women were imparted skill training togenerate employment opportunities in making craftsusing natural fibers such as water hyacinth, screw pine and bamboo. Participantshailing from poor families affected by flood attended. Training conducted as part of a novel project implemented with the support Wipro Cares,helped trainees to transform their life.Series of training organized in April - May 2019 with the support of craft training experts. They trained them up with adequate skills to make crafts based on natural fibers. Resource persons handled training in such an ease that differently abled were able to catch up the course well. They applied demonstration method rather than theory class. Facilitators assisted participants to cope up with training class and learn by doing. As impact of the training, today differently abled persons engaged in craft making unit and earning a decent living with dignity. They are no more a burden but rathertransformed as sole bread winner of their family and leading happy life.
