A CHAIN OF SERVICE
KIDS distributed goats, chicks, ducks and other livestock to people who lost their livelihood during the flood of 2018. The beneficiaries who belong to Anapuzha, Thuruthoor and Mala Pallipuram region received the goats and other livestock. The program was to restructure their livelihood which was challenged by the flood. Those who received goats from KIDS bred them and gave the offsprings to other families.
Farmers sensitized on cage farming
On 26th of July 2019, self help group (farmer producer organization) members were sensitized on cage farming. Programme was organized at KIDS campus with the support of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). It was an opportunity for farmers to learn from success stories and address problems faced in cage farming. The training was very effective in terms of understanding the scope, technicality and economic viability of fish cage farming as means of livelihood.
Distributed motor sets
More than 100 selected farmers from flood affected villages were distributed water pump sets along with sprinklers with the support of Caritas India. Onetime support was given in view of helping farmers to overcome the hurdles and restore agriculture field. It was real consolation for them.
