Snehamritham
Cancer has recently become one of the leading causes of financial burden, death and family breakdown. Early detection increases the chances of survival. The most common of these is breast cancer. We can deal with this only through proper testing and awareness. Recognizing this importance, the KIDS Snehamritham project aims to ensure health care for all through screening and awareness in villages and homes. In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity India and Punarjani Paravur, KIDS Snehamritham- Mobile Mammogram Unit (A Charity Project for Cancer Patients) was inaugurated by Kerala Social Service Forum Director Rev. Fr Jacob Mavungal with the help of Conferenza Episcopa Italiana (CEI) in collaboration with Caritas India Asakiranam cancer campaign and Don Bosco Hospital. The meeting was presided by Kottapuram Diocese Bishop Rt Rev. Joseph Karikkassery Kodungallur Municipality Chairperson Smt. U. A Shinija Teacher distributed medical aid for cancer patients.Caritas India Asakiranam Coordinator Smt. Siby Paulose facilitated the function.KIDS initiated the mobile service unit in order to provide services such as house planning, materials for house construction at affordable rate and to ensure the services of PMAY project of Government of India. Along with the Mobile Mammogram unit, a cancer detection medical camp was conducted to provide basic information about the preventive measures of cancer.
